Dynamic Video Imaging

Hi there,

For quite a while I've been trying to rack my brain with how to release my last three films. They have all been unavailable (online) up until this point as there didn't seem like that many great options for release (1. that don't cost an arm and a leg to host, 2. that aren't just posted on Youtube).

Being that the films are very low-budget, niche, strange, weren't successful by any metrics, any sort of best case financial success they could achieve would be negligible. I've decided the best course of action is to just release them for free on my website, and hopefully the films (whether you enjoy them or not) could serve as more of a guide to making no-budget films.

Along with the films themselves. I have included a detailed page on the exact process of making the films. I will include examples for each of my feature films (The Big Gust!, BEGONIA, and The Caring Only Cry at Night). I hope someone out there finds this helpful.

I also think that the common saying of "anyone can make a film with a phone" may technically be true, it's not super helpful. Not everyone has the proper resources or support to make a film (of any scale). So rather than to lead with some bs like that and tell people "anyone can make a film for $300) instead I'm just going to present what I have done, and people can take from that what they like. Making a film is hard and it really sucks a lot of the time. But it can also be very fulfilling and allow you to create great memories with you friends & family. Where noted, you will also see sections which were written by some talented friends & collaborators who were kind enough to share some of there knowledge.

Also what's with the trend of all these filmmakers doing online courses? It's like I see a new ad for one everyday. Who can afford $500-1000 for an online course? seems weird to me, anyways. If anyone has any more questions about anything after reading this, feel free to email me.

Best,

Gavin
